Owner's Story

A Love Letter to Nara

The owner was born and raised in Nara, growing up with the ancient traditions of the city as part of everyday life—the Mantoro lantern festival at Kasuga Taisha, the Omizutori water-drawing ceremony, the deer antler cutting ritual. These scenes, experienced since childhood, felt less like something special and more like simply the way life was.

After marriage, the owner left Nara and spent 35 years living in various places, both in Japan and abroad. Having the opportunity to see Nara from the outside brought a profound realization: what once felt like simply "old things" were actually treasures of immeasurable value.

The fact that ceremonies continuing for over 1,300 years are still alive today—this is a rare treasure by any global standard. And with it comes what can only be described as the ultimate power of healing.

The desire to share this wonder with as many people as possible—to let them experience it firsthand—is what gave birth to NARA PARK BLUE SKY. We wholeheartedly look forward to welcoming you.
